Trust in the name of the LORD

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

Ps 20:7,8

The Pharaoh gathered 600 of his best chariots and chased the Israelites to the edge of the sea. The outcome? Pharaoh trusted on his chariots and his horses but the people of Israel looked upon God for deliverance. All of Pharaoh's men including their horses were brought to their knees and they drowned in the Red sea.

This is the case with many of us. We can attribute the chariots and horses to our strong points or our strength. Most of us tend to completely trust in our own strength to execute anything and everything in our lives. We feel we don't need the help from above. We become so arrogant that we forget that there is power higher than our might, our knowledge or our strength.

Humility is an important thing that keeps us closer to God. When we humble before God and kneel down in worship, He lifts us up from the lowly and puts us in a high place much more than we can imagine. He rises us up from our knees and holds us to stand firm before our enemies. Whereas if we tend to stand firm in our own strength and our own knowledge, we will be brought to our knees and will fall; never to rise up again.

Trusting in the Lord is not a weak thing to do. It is a great thing to practice such faith and trust in our lives. It is much much easier when we are knowledgeable and intelligent to take up a task and execute it trusting on ourselves rather than to trust in the Lord to lead us how to do about it when we have absolutely no idea of what the task is about. The Israelities were not a people who could fight the Pharaoh's army but their trust in the Lord brought victory. The enemies they saw on that day were not to be seen in future in their lives. What a victory!!

Trust in the Lord and don't despair, He is a friend so true to you!! He is a friend, companion, loving father!! He is so true to His promises and He will lead you through any situations in your life. All you need to do is TRUST IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!!

Amen!! Hallelujah!!
